On 26/27 April we will hold our first Seneca trailwork weekend of 2014. While we do have a few easier tasks, please be prepared for hard work. At this event we will have crews working on the following items:
-Completing the stone staircase at the Southern Pillar
-Inspecting the East and West face base areas for downed trees from the winter
-Checking and resupplying the First Aid boxes and rescue caches
-Beginning work on the East Ridge Trail
Registration is limited to 10 volunteers. This is the max amount of people we can safely coordinate. If we do hit the max, Mid-Atlantic Climbers is hosting Rockfest at Coopers Rock in West Virginia.
We will meet at 8am at the Gendarme on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Quitting time on Saturday is around 4pm. If we get a lot done on Saturday, there's a reasonable chance we'll just climb on Sunday so bring your gear if you want to climb.
Bring work gloves, water and a lunch. Wear pants with good hiking shoes or work boots. And bring helmets!
We'll make a dinner on Saturday night at the Gendarme, sponsored by Friends of Seneca.
Camping is on your own but this early in the season I'd recommend Princess Snowbird. It won't be that busy and it's cheap.
Please contact Andy Weinmann if you've never been to Seneca or have any other questions. I will email all attendees once the registration list is full. We'll coordinate transportation arrangements, etc.
