Three days of fun and climbing in the Yosemite of the East!  Come to PATC-MS's annual gathering at the Gunks for Labor Day weekend!

Late summer camping and climbing at the Gunks, one of the best places anywhere for beautiful, moderate traditional climbing...plenty of options for all ability levels.

The Club will help coordinate transportation and help out with any info people need on the area, climbing or otherwise.

We'll rally at the EMS/Coffee Shop at the Rt 44/55 & Rt. 299 intersection (across from the Mountain Brauhaus) on Saturday morning at 0800 to make sure everyone has a partner and so we can carpool up to the parking area.

We'll also do a Saturday evening dinner at a local place in New Paltz (probably Bacchus), with the Club covering up to $200 of our total for the night.  Bring some small cash to help cover any overage.

The Shawangunks (aka the Gunks), New Paltz, NY.  It's about a 6 hour drive from the DC area.

Please note that the Gunks is a FEE AREA managed by the Mohonk Preserve. The fee is $17/day or purchase an annual membership for $95 (which works out to 6 days of climbing to pay for it).

Camping is available at Camp Slime (free, first come-first served), the NY State Multi-use Area (MUA - also free) and Creekview Campground down in Rosendale ( ~$10/night).

Other options are the hostel in New Paltz (I recommend this if not camping) and a few motels like Motel 87 and Super 8.

The entire Labor Day weekend from Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 01.

Additional info:

-It's a good idea to get set up with a partner beforehand but we will do our best to pair people up that need it.  Just know that if you show up without a partner we can't 100% guarantee a partner.

-You'll get a link to the Carpool sign-up list once you register.

-Only Club members will be covered for dinner.  Guests can obviously attend but must pay their checks separately.  Thanks!
