Alpine Climbing in Austria. This month back in Vienna, VA.
Join us Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at 7:00 pm as we conduct our monthly meeting.
Member (and ASW instructor) Eric Merideth climbed the East Arete of Wilde Leck in Austria. This presentation will cover the nuts and bolts of setting up and executing a one day alpine climb.
(From Wikipedai) The Wilde Leck is a mountain, 3,361 m (AA), in the Stubai Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. In the Stubai Alps the Wilde Leck is one of the most difficult summits to climb, because its easiest route runs initially over glaciers and then up a rock face that is assessed as climbing grade III (UIAA).
This meeting will return to PATC-HQ in Vienna, VA. Join at 7 PM for pizza and drinks.
The meeting will be recorded and live-streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/user/iamsylvainla/live (if this link doesn't work, check back on this site for updates)
