Join PATC-MS for a weekend of climbing in the Monongahela National Forest, with trad climbing at Seneca Rocks or sport climbing at Smoke Hole.

While it's best to come with a partner, the club will help participants connect. We will be climbing at Smoke Hole on Sunday and can host four top-rope climbers or followers.

The club will organize camping for 12 people, likely at Princess Snowbird campground, and a socially distanced Saturday night get-together and pot-luck dinner. More information on camping coming soon.

Grab a beer, soda, or tequila and listen to stories of your fellow climbers' bravery.

There will be tales of ropes stuck in trees, people cold because they forget their wind layer, and others having to bail because for any number of reason.

Remember that getting to the summit might be the goal but the reward is the physical and mental challenge, the views, and the time spent with friends.

Come and celebrate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862.  Also our faith that together we can beat this virus.

Trip Leader:  Mitch Hyman, 202-320-3893.

Covid socially distanced

Bring your own partner

Smoke Hole/Reeds Creek day for Sport Climbers

Seneca Rocks is primarily a multi-pitch trad climbing area.  This is not an instructional clinic/event.

It is strongly suggested that you arrange for a partner prior to the weekend and that you are comfortable with multi-pitch trad. There will be a group spreadsheet to help match up partners, but individuals are ultimately responsible for their own weekend. Link will be in the confirmation email.

The campsite is open to all members signed up for the event. If the registration for campsites is already filled, please feel free to join the club for climbing and the pot-luck dinner Saturday night.
