Mountaineering Training as a Lifestyle: How to Train for Big Peaks in Your Own Back Yard
May 2 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeJeff Reynolds, guide and owner of S2 Mountaineering, will speak about building a “lifestyle plan” around your mountaineering goals, training for 8000m peaks, and maintaining fitness for your personal climbing goals using what Virginia has to offer. He’ll share his individual plan on how he maintains his fitness to climb a 6000m peak at any time and how he adapts this for 8000m peaks.
In over 40 years of climbing, Jeff has planned and successfully led hundreds of climbs and treks on every continent, including the Seven Summits and new routes in the Altai range of Mongolia and the Sentinel range of Antarctica. Jeff is also a practicing environmental law and natural resource attorney, volunteer EMS, and served as both an enlisted U.S. Army soldier and Air Force officer.
