Sugarloaf Mountain Top Roping Trip
September 17 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
Join PATC-MS for a day of climbing at Sugarloaf Mountain, a top roping area with a short approach. Most, if not all, of the climbs can be top-roped using natural anchors, though if you have a trad rack and partner you’re welcome to lead here as well. The rock is white quartzite mixed with other softer rock compounds.
Please bring your top rope set up (if you have it), belay device, harness, helmet, plenty of water, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, etc.
Upon entry to Sugarloaf Mountain, a $5 cash donation is highly encouraged, as Sugarloaf Mountain is a privately owned non-profit and relies on donations to stay open. It is also a trash free park, so plan to pack out any garbage.
Plan to meet at the West View Parking lot at 8 am. If you plug it into your GPS, you will be fine, just follow the instructions. We will assemble at the picnic tables by the parking lot (impossible to miss). GPS: https://goo.gl/maps/Bj9qBkBCagcdEipX9
Please note that this is not a guided event and none of our trip leaders are professional guides. You will be climbing on ropes set up by members of the club who are hobby climbers and not professionals. Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport and you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for yourself and your own safety at all times.
If you need to cancel your reservation, go back to the event page, log in, and scroll down to the RSVP portion. Click the red “view your RSVP” text and it will take you to another page where you can change your RSVP from “going” to “not going”. If you have signed up and can no longer attend, please email the next person on the waitlist, linked here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k4Dt2fuXh7zB4f78GT5c4zT4cv8slHgMjhkBqBOY7is/edit#gid=0
