PATC is partnering with MEDIC SOLO to host a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification course.

The content and exercises will be tailored to climbing situations (leader falls, hypothermia, etc.). Successful completion of this course will result in Red Cross WFA certification for two years. WFA is the typical certification level of non-professional settings. If you are interested in certification associated with employment in the outdoor industry the Wilderness First Responder (WFR) may be more appropriate.

This event will be capped at 20 participants. The price to participate is $220 per person. The cost for this course is very competitive because of our arrangements and a subsidy from the club.

The course will be offered at the office building that also houses Movement Crystal City (1235 S Clark St, Arlington, VA 22202) in a conference room – NOT in the actual climbing gym itself. Some practical application activities will take place outside of the conference room, so participants are recommended to wear outdoor clothing potentially for extended periods throughout the day. There is free weekend parking in the garage below the building, and it is walking distance from the Crystal City Metro. Participants should bring their own lunch/snacks, water, etc.
