New Hampshire is the mecca of eastern ice climbing. With some of the most famous ice and mixed routes in the country, including on the incomparable Mount Washington, the White Mountains serve up the icy goods for anyone seeking to test and develop their winter climbing skills. Come join PATC-MS members for a three-day weekend of ice climbing and other alpine pursuits, such as winter hiking or skiing.
Lodging: We will stay at the new CoHo Hostel in Conway, close to the heart of downtown North Conway. Each participant will have their pick of beds on a first-come-first-served basis as they arrive in one of the two reserved bunk rooms.
Climbing Partners: Please be sure to coordinate with your climbing partners beforehand. If you are new to ice climbing and would be interested in partnering with other beginner ice climbers, hiring a local guide might be a good option. A pre-trip group chat will facilitate that coordination and provide relevant information for that. This is not an instructional trip.
Dates: March 8-10, 2024
If you rent a spot and can no longer make the trip, you will need to find someone to transfer your spot to – we cannot offer refunds for this event.
Please note that this is not a guided event and none of our trip leaders are professional guides. You will be climbing on ropes set up by members of the club who are hobby climbers and not professionals. Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport and you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for yourself and your own safety at all times.
