This event will run from 7 – 9pm on Friday June 12 at Sportrock Rio.  You will need to check in at the desk and the Rio staff will direct you to the room.  You don’t need to pay their entry fee.

So you want to be a rock climber? Navigating the traditional climbing route often raises more questions than answers during your first moves. What gear should I buy? Where should I go? Who should I learn from? What should I expect?

Spend a couple of hours on the evening of June 12th finding answers to some of these questions and any others you may have. Along with stories and Q&A we will have a plethora of trad gear, both past and present, to play with and talk about.

The evening hosted by PMC at Sportrock Rio will feature Tim Murphy presenting and discussing the world of Traditional Rock Climbing. Tim is an AMGA Certified Multi Pitch Instructor who guides locally in DC and Seneca Rocks, a trad climber of 35 years and a founder of East Outdoors.

IMPORTANT – You must be a new trad climber to register.  Please do not sign up if you’ve already been trad climbing for a year or more [ even if you didn’t do much]

Cancellations

Please cancel your registration if you are no longer able to attend  so that someone else can have your spot.  To do this, contact the trip organizer and the webmaster. Or use the cancellation code on the registration receipt assuming you kept this.

If you do not contact the trip organizer or webmaster, this counts as a no-show. If you no show once, you will get an email from the Chair. If you do not show up twice, you will not be allowed to sign up for another event for 3 months. If you continue to not show up, your membership will be cancelled and refunded.
