Applications for Alpine Skills Weekend (ASW) are now being accepted! The application period is October 12, 2025 to October 24, 2025 5:00pm. Applications will not be accepted after the cut-off. Midweek Smokehole Climbing Wed Oct 1 – Fri Oct 3

This is a mid-week sport climbing trip to the Smoke Hole Canyon in West Virginia, east of Seneca Rocks and the North Fork Mountain/Germany Valley. It is about a 3-3.5 hour drive from Washington DC. PMC Birthday & Holiday Party – Saturday November 15

The 2025 PATC-MS/PMC Birthday and Holiday Party will be held from 3-6 pm on November 15 at the Carderock Pavilion.  There will be climbing, weather permitting, beforehand. Gunks Trip Sept 25 – Sept 28

This is a three day trip to the Schwangunks, a trad climbing area about 80 miles north of New York City. The idea is to arrive Thursday evening (~5 1/2 hours driving time), pitch tents at the AAC campground, climb full days on Friday and Saturday; Sunday break up camp, climb 1/2 day, drive back. Thurmont Watershed Sept 14

Let’s hit up Thurmont Watershed TWS rocks – Ed rocks!  It’s a smallish predominantly toprope crag north of Frederick MD.  There is climbing info on mountainproject and it’s covered in Vol 1 of the  Maryland (Kochte) guide. Seneca Rocks – Chili Cookoff October 17 -19

A weekend of good climbing and even better chili! The Seneca Rocks Chili Cook Off is on October 18th at the Gendarme’s porch. Local Area Toproping – March 21 or 22
