This year the annual Chili Cook-Off will be held October 17 at the Gendarme at Seneca Rocks.
Bring your best chili effort, pay $5 to enter, and take home the pot if your recipe wows the judges.
You don’t have to enter, you can just come, climb, eat chili, climb and go home.
This event is the traditional end of the climbing season at Seneca and it’s a lot of fun. Please sign up on this spreadsheet as well as registering directly on this website.
There’s also, of course, climbing, with camping provided by PMC at Seneca Shadows, Group campsite D. 8 cars maximum parking so please carpool. YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS FOR A CLIMBING PARTNER. This is not an educational event. Please make sure you are an experienced trad follower or trad leader. Seneca climbing is real, exposed, exhilarating, fun, and can be dangerous. Know how to rappel, have the right rope length for the climbs/rappels, know where you’re going, and have all the safety gear.
