Coopers Rock and the Cheat River Canyon area offer a range of gritstone climbing 3 hours from DC. Most climbers in the area are aware of the bouldering at Coopers Rock, but there is also plentiful sport, trad, and toprope climbing available as well.
This trip is open to club members who are interested in any of these disciplines.
Please fill out this participant survey. The trip will be limited to 10-15 members and trip participants will be selected based on the survey responses.
Car pooling and a WhatsApp chat to coordinate gear and partners will be set up closer to the date.

Camping
The group will be camping at Chestnut Ridge Regional Park. Grocery stores and restaurants can be found in nearby Morgantown.
In order to attend you will need to book your own 1 person campsite or a 2 person campsite if you pair up. You will need camping gear (I.e. tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, etc.). There are bathrooms, fresh water, and showers available at the campground.

Coopers Rock is a WV State Park near Morgantown. It offers sandstone bouldering and some roped climbing.
The Cheat Canyon is nearby and offers around 600 sport and trad climbs. There is some coverage in Mountainproject for the Snake Hill Wildlife Management area but you’ll likely need a guidebook for other areas.
