Seneca Rocks Cinco de Mayo is over the weekend of May 1 – 3.
The Club has reserved Group Campsite D at Seneca Shadows from May 1- 3 for 12 tents.. If you are not registered for the trip, but plan on coming anyway, you will need to find your own accommodation. There are other sites at Seneca Shadows or at Princess Snowbird that you could book.
This is not a beginner climbing trip so you must arrange your own climbing partners – or a guide – in advance, The trip leader will assist where possible in matching people up, but no promises. Please fill in the questions at registration to help with this. Please do not register if you are a beginner climber. If in doubt contact the trip leader.
If you arrive looking for a partner, you will probably not be able to go climbing. If you are new to trad climbing, there are many great guide services in the area, so consider hiring a guide. There are also excellent sport climbing crags nearby – Smokehole, Reeds Creek – and good hiking opportunities as well.
The trip will be limited to 12 people and registration will open March 28th at 8am.
Closer to the date a WhatsApp group will be set up to coordinate car pooling and potentially climbing partners.
The trip Leader is Matthew Manopoli matthew.manopoli at gmail.com
Cancellations
Please cancel your registration if you are no longer able to attend so that someone else can have your spot.
If you do not contact the trip organiser, this counts as a no-show. If you no show once, you will get an email from the Chair. If you do not show up twice, you will not be allowed to sign up for another event for 3 months. If you continue to not show up, your membership will be cancelled and refunded.
Please note that this is not a guided event and none of our trip leaders are professional guides. You will be climbing with members of the club who are hobby climbers and not professionals. Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport and you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for yourself and your own safety at all times.
