Please join PATC-MS for top-rope and/or trad climbing at Shaffer Rocks and Pond Bank, Pennsylvania, September 27th-29th.

For this trip, we will be taking requests to participate until September 10th 2024.  We will let everyone know who is invited to participate by September 12th. We will select participants to balance across a range of experience, skills, etc.

Shaffer Rocks is easily accessible (a small parking lot is at the top of the crag) and has 30+ routes from 5.3 to 5.11+. The group will set up top-rope anchors.

Pond Bank White Rocks is a short drive away and is a trad crag with 60+ routes from 5.3 to 5.11+. Participants are welcome to trad climb there. The approach is a short walk to the base of the climbs. Climbs are one pitch with an easy walk-off. If you are trad climbing, you will generally need to pre-arrange a partner.

Logistics: We have reserved the PATC Hermitage cabin for a common gathering area. This is located at the base of Shaffer Rocks. We will be camping at nearby Caledonia State Park (https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/CaledoniaStatePark/Pages/default.aspx). You will be responsible for reserving your own camping spot.

Parking at both crags is limited so arranging a carpools will be necessary.
