Springfield Bouldering [rock(bouldering)]

This is a local bouldering spot in Springfield, VA. It’s an outstanding area off of Franconia Springfield Pkwy and Hooes Rd.

The place has a good selection of hard overhung boulder problems, and even a bolted top rope wall (The top rope section is the vertical rock face facing the parkway, there are two bolts at the top to anchor into. Bolts look new).

It stays dry most of the time, and would be great for winter/rainy day climbing. It’s a beautiful area needing just a little TLC.

Climbing Gear

A pad and a spotter may be a good idea for the overhung problems.
