Hidden Rocks Sunday August 16

This is a day trip on Sunday August 16 to the  Hidden Rocks area which is 15 miles south west of Harrisonburg and 2 1/2 hours drive from Washington DC.  There are five sandstone crags offering sport and trad climbing up to 70ft and some limited toproping. Leaderless Local Area Toproping – August 22 – 23

This is a top roping trip to a local area – Great Falls/Sugarloaf/Annapolis Rocks/Thurmont Watershed on August 22 or 23 Great Falls is in Virginia and the other three destinations are in Maryland and  all offer 40 – 50ft routes on good rock. Annapolis Rocks TR + Trad Climbing Saturday August 22

Annapolis Rocks offers good quality toproping and moderate trad climbing near Boonsboro, MD.  To sign up for this trip, you’ll need to be able to belay and preferably have outdoor climbing experience.  Annapolis Rocks is an hour’s walk along the Appalachian Trail from the parking spot which is about 1 1/2 hours drive from Washington. Friends and Family New Climbers Day Sun September 13

Chili Cook Off – Seneca Rocks Oct 16-18th 2026

This year the annual Chili Cook-Off will be held October 17 at the Gendarme at Seneca Rocks. Bring your best chili effort, pay $5 to enter, and take home the pot if your recipe wows the judges. You don’t have to enter, you can just come, climb, eat chili, climb and go home. This event (more…)
